Tampere Progressive Heavy Metal act STATUS MINOR was initiated during 2003 by guitarist Sami Saarinen and drummer Timo Hanhijoki. That summer bassist Marko Kolehmainen and keyboard player Jukka Karinen enrolled. In early 2005 Timo Hanhijoki decided to move on. Drummer Perttu Helin and singer Markku Kuikka subsequently rounded out the line-up. STATUS MINOR's inaugural demo sessions were conducted in April 2006.

A second demo, 'The Sun', was released in April 2007. Later that year a promotional video was filmed for the song 'Blinded', the track having been recorded and mixed at Sonic Pump Studios. Perttu Helin then exited. Rolf Pilve (a.k.a. 'Stuka'), from ESSENCE OF SORROW and SIGHTLESS, joined up. Bass player Marko Kolehmainen decided to concentrate completely on his other act MASTERSTROKE in 2007, being replaced by Eero Pakkanen.

A debut album, entitled 'Dialog', was signed to Lion Music in April 2009. That same month Pilve joined TORCHBEARER.
