MASTERSTROKE is a Tampere based Heavy Metal band, forged by the former DIMENSION duo of guitarist Niko Rauhala and drummer Janne Juutinen in the Spring of 2002. Shortly after formation a debut demo, entitled 'Facing The Truth', would be cut with the founding pair joined by the SHAMAN, KORPIKLAANI and CRYSTALIC credited Arto Tissari on bass guitar and ex-DREAMTALE keyboard player Mikko Viheriälä.

MASTERSTROKE debuted live in October of that year, performing at Tampere's Yo-Talo Club alongside DREAMTALE and CELESTY.

Early 2003 saw the introduction of second guitarist Markus Kekoni, previously a member of DECTERA. A sophomore demo session, 'Children Of The War', utilised the services of SNAKEGOD singer Jari Tiura as backing vocalist. This unit gelled further as Tiura subsequently took up the position of lead vocalist.

In December 2005 it was revealed that Jari Tiura had joined the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP.

MASTERSTROKE's sophomore album, 'Sleep', was released in Japan on 19th March 2008 and issued in Europe via Dynamic Arts Records.conducted a Spring 2008 European tour with The group JON OLIVA'S PAIN and MANTICORA.
