Guitarist Toni Tieaho founded CRYSTALIC in Tampere during 1998. The Dark Metal band made one demo, entitled 'Stormwalker', before disintigrating in 1999. The following year Tieaho forged Death Metal combo THE PROPHECY in union with drummer Matti Johansson and bassist Arto Tissari.

After two demos THE PROPHECY disbanded in 2002. Tieaho and Tissari duly re-forged CRYSTALIC with aid from MASTERSTROKE musicians guitarist Niko and drummer Janne acting in a session capacity for the demo 'Revitalized'.

In the year 2003 former colleague Matti Johansson joined the band and the 'Redemption' demo arrived in July, 2004. However, the following year Johansson took his leave to prioritise his other band KORPIKLAANI and Timo Hanhijoki enrolled as replacement. In addition, Erik Grönroos was added as second guitar player.

The 'Carnival Of Flesh' promotional CD was issued in December 2005, scoring a contract with French label Thundering Records. CRYSTALIC released their debut album 'Watch Us Deteriorate' on 30th March 2007 in France and later all across Europe. In August Grönroos decided to leave the band, citing personal reasons. Mikko Mattila, previously of DREAMTALE, took his place.
