Biography

CALVARIUM is the union of a trio of noted Finnish Black Metal veterans. The band was formulated in 2000 by guitarist Veilroth and drummer Lord Sargofagian. The former, responsible for "malignant strings of blasphemy", cited credits with BEHEXEN and as a prior member of ALGHAZANTH whilst the drummer, "Skullpounding", fronted BAPTISM and held down membership of SATANIC WARMASTER, YMIR, VALONSURMA and TROTZREICH. This duo cut the demo 'Dungeons Of Hate' in October 2001. Upon completion of these sessions Molestor Kadotus, another TROTZREICH member and also mentor of ANAL BLASPHEMY, joined the fold as singer.

CALVARIUM signed to the Dynamic Arts label and prepared for a debut album in 2002. However, a matter of hours before the band was due to record the studio burnt down in an electrical fire. The album, 'The Skull Of Golgotha', finally emerged in January of 2003. An EP entitled 'Assaulting The Divine' emerged in late December 2004 via Dynamic Arts Records. That same year Lord Sargofagian emerged as a member of BLACK DEATH RITUAL.

Molester Kadotus would also be active with MUSTA KAPPELI, a Black Metal duo also comprising keyboard player IkiHorros was founded in 2005. Spread Evil Productions distributed the February 2007 demo 'Sielun Pimeydessä'. This set was limited to 300 copies.
