Pori's TORTURE KILLER, fronted by Matti Liuke, a.k.a. 'Centurion' of ANNIHILATUS and featuring guitarist Tuomas 'T. Sinisterror' Karppinen of TORN and FUNERAL FEAST, signed to the Hammerheart label for a 2003 album 'For Maggots To Devour'. On drums would be Tuomo Latvala from DEMIGOD, TORN and DEEPRED. Latvala, together with guitarist Taneli 'Korpse' Hatakka, previously drummer for ANNIHILATUS, would forge side project AN, issuing a 2003 7" single 'Pure Northern Hell' with Centurion aiding on session vocals.

Bassist Torniainen was added to the TORTURE KILLER ranks in March 2004. In September, just three days before scheduled touring, singer Matti Like was ejected, being swiftly replaced by Sallinen of FUNERAL FEAST for a split 7" single shared with SOTAJUMALA on the Woodcut label.

Finding themselves without a frontman once again during 2005 the band solved the problem in spectacular fashion by announcing in November that SIX FEET UNDER and ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE vocalist Chris Barnes had agreed to join to lay down vocals on second album 'Swarm!'
