Biography

Oulu Dark / Gothic Metal band, founded as the Black Metal influenced TREACHERY in 1998 by a core trio of vocalist / guitarist Ari Kokko, guitarist Aarne Kangas and drummer Kimmo Kallio, subsequently drawing in keyboard player Anu Kovalainen and Topi Rantakangas on bass to record the demo 'Frost'. After these sessions, they would be joined by second guitarist Pauli Heikkinen of HYBRID DAEMON and DARK FLOOD. However, Rantakangas departed in the Spring of 2001. A second demo, entitled 'Captive', emerged before the band was put on hold due to national military obligations.

Reforming as ZEROCROWD, the group recruited Aarne Kangas on keyboards then HYBRID DAEMON bassist Risto Malm in the Spring of 2003. The outfit's debut 2004 commercial release, 'Inside' recorded at Neo Studios with producers Teemu Hostikka and Kakke Vähäkuopus, was then crafted using guitarist Teemu Hostikka. ZEROCROWD lost the services of drummer Kimmo Kallio in March 2005, replacing him with Donny van der Blom. Ari Kokko also operated side venture SPELLTHRONE.

Further ZEROCROWD tracks were laid down at Minortone studio with DARK FLOOD guitarist Kalle Ruumensaari acting as producer.
