Adventurous Death Metal act brought to life in Oulu initially as a keyboard based project by Jukka 'Zann Path' Juntunen during 1993, the debut eponymous demo arriving later that same year. The band's unique brand of Death / Black Metal is heavily infused with H.P. Lovecraft references. Throughout 1994 and into 1996 Path was joined by vocalist Jarno Juntunen and guitar players Rauli Roininen and Pekka Mustonen. DAWN OF RELIC's second demo recording, 1997's 'Of The Ambience', secured a deal with the Wicked World offshoot of Earache Records resulting in the album 'One Night In Carcosa'. Session vocalists for the 'One Night In Carcosa' album were CATAMENIA's Mika Tönning and HORNA's Nazgul Von Armageddon.

The band, severing ties with Wicked World, would then introduce Teemu Luukinen on guitar for a further brace of demo sessions in 2001, 'Wrathcast' and 'Rose Haven'. These tapes secured DAWN OF RELIC the title of best unsigned band from the influential French 'Metallion' magazine and a new contract with the Season Of Mist label for January 2003's 'Lovecraftian Dark'. The album saw guest sessions courtesy of Alexi Ranta from THE BLACK LEAGUE, Kaisa Jouhki of BATTLELORE, Mikko Hyttinen of R.M.S. and Jarno Juntunen from IGNIS FATUUS.

DAWN OF RELIC, parting ways with bass player Pekka Mustonen, entered Tico Tico Studios in November of 2004 to craft a new album 'Night On Earth'.
