Biography
A Death Metal band originally entitled CLAYFORGE, under which title they issued the 1998 demo 'Kult Release'. At this juncture the band cited a line-up roster of vocalist Mikko 'Deepthroat' Nurmi, guitarists Juha 'Speedpick' Raivio and 'Fastfinger' Jämsen, bassist Tomi 'Stormhand' Kankainen and drummer Pasi 'Thunderpedal' Pasanen. The latter had already made his mark with Black Metal veterans MORNINGSTAR. Both guitarist Juha Raivio and bassist Tomi Kankainen had figured in WATERFRONT WEIRDOS.
As MURDER IN ART, and now minus Raivio, the band debuted with the 1999 album 'Scars', featuring re-works of the CLAYFORGE material, for the Mastervox label.
During early 2000 both Juha Raivio and Pasi Pasanen would forge the Stoner band PLUTONIUM ORANGE. The duo also operate a Doom Metal band side venture SWALLOW THE SUN in league with FUNERIS NOCTURNUM personnel. Raivio also features in EMBRAZE. Jämsen has scene affiliations with RAUTAKELLO, MURDER IN ART and SWALLOW THE SUN
