GAURITHOTH came together in Mikkeli 1997 as a quartet of lead vocalist V.W.Hellboozer (M. Nevalalainen), guitarists Keisari and Pastor Satana with Perversor (Janne Jukarainen) on drums. Nevalalainen's tradition on the scene includes association with AGON ORIGIN, BEEZEBUB, NEKROKRIST SS, NJAFAR, WÅRPATH and WIZZARD. Janne Jukarainen has ties to BEEZEBUB, GRAYSCALE, HANGING GARDEN, NAILDOWN, SHAMRAIN and SOURCE OF DEMISE.

In this formation the band cut the inaugural demo recording 'In Moonlight We Gather'. In January of 1998 the band, still without a bass player at this stage, performed live for the first time, as support to MORNINGSTAR and BARATHRUM. However, the rhythm section would be completed shortly after with the introduction of Lord Holocaust as GAURITHOTH laid down a second session 'Satanic Perverse Black Latex Metal'. This progress was stalled though in 1999 when compulsary national military service interrupted the band's schedule.

The quartet of V.W.Hellboozer, Keisari, Perversor and Pastor Satana regrouped in 2002. The latter soon drifted away and the 'Huoravasara' promotion set was recorded as a trio. Subsequent recruitments witnessed the re-inauguration of Lord Holocaust on bass and the delightfully titled Cunt Meister (Petri Immonen) of CALEDONIAN on second guitar. GAURITHOTH incorporated EXIT WOUNDS man Anal Master (Valon Veli) as second vocalist that September.

2003 opened with the 'Priesthunt' EP, during which Lord Holocaust was asked to leave. Hellboozer took on bass responsibilities but in March FF became the band's new bassist. He in turn would be superseded by Valgrinder of BESTIAL DEVESTATION, FȪRGJORD, NJAFRAR and PIMEYS repute. The second guitar position was handed over to Wargasmaster (Jyrki Häkkinen) of AGON ORIGIN, «ANTARKTIS UTOPIA, NJAFRAR and SOTAJUMALA. Fudgeworthy Records released the 'Huoravasara' 7" single in 2004. Crimes Against Humanity released the album 'Perverse' in November 2005.
