Lahti melodic Black Metal combo SOLACIDE features guitarist Kimmo Korhonen, also of HELION, JUMLHÄMÄRÄ and NOWEN. The band was started as DIM MOONLIGHT during 1996, then involving guitarist Tuomo Tähtinen. The band underwent a succession of membership changes. Those musicians who flowed through the ranks included TORN, JUMLHÄMÄRÄ and NOWEN bassist Kai Huovinen plus JUMLHÄMÄRÄ and NOWEN guitar player Jan Huovinen during 1998, bassist Lauri Hietanen and the DROWNED IN LIFE and KILL THE ROMANCE credited guitarist Tomi Luoma in 2000.

As a duo of Kimmo Korhonen and drummer Matti Jauhola they released the 2000 demo '...To Tranquility', still branded DIM MOONLIGHT. More players were then introduced, including BEFORE THE DAWN, TUONI and JUMLHÄMÄRÄ bass player Dani Miettinen in 2001 and MOMENT AFTER SCARLET man Olli Rytkönen on keyboards the following year. The same pair cut the 'Pleasure Of Existence' session in 2003.

The group took on the new title of SOLACIDE in 2004. A March 2006 demo, 'Waves of Hate', featured Korhonen, Jauhola, ex-CATAMENIA singer Mika Tönning, guitarist Joonas Vanhalakka and bass player Sami Tikkanen.
