Low tuned Rockers. DEFUSE was created by former ZEROCHARISMA and BLEEDING NATION members guitarist Arzhie Ahonen and singer Hylzy Hyvärinen toward the close of 2000. With the addition of second guitarist Timo Hämäläinen, AEON's Jerkko Tapaninen on drums and bassist Ville Tuomi, known for his high profile work with AMORPHIS, DEFUSE was borne. The band issued a self financed eponymous EP in 2001, following this with demo recordings produced by Janne Tolsa of TAROT repute.

Tero Karjalainen took over on bass during 2004 and that year Tuhma Records released the debut single 'Someday' / 'Shot Down'. Finnish touring throughout 2005 was capitalised on by a first album, released in March 2006. A promotional video for 'Killing Another Tear' was filmed, followed up by more live work across Finland, Latvia and Estonia. In 2007 DEFUSE toured Italy and shot a video for 'D.I.B.', this short featuring a guest appearance by Marco Hietala of NIGHTWISH and TAROT.
