Biography

Kouvola based Progressive Metal outfit dating to 1994. MALPRACTICE guitarist Joonas Koto is also an active participant of TO/DIE/FOR. The opening May 1996 EP 'Memorial' saw MALPRACTICE with a line-up comprising lead vocalist Mika Uronen, guitarists Joonas Koto and Tuomo Pärttö, bass player Petri Vuorio and drummer Mikka Tikka. A further EP, 'Frozen', arrived before the close of the year. With exposure being generated by favourable press and distribution of both EPs into Germany the band were invited to appear on the 1997 Black Mark compilation album 'Out Of The Box II'. However, Petri Vuorio left and MALPRACTICE brought in replacement Jonas Mäki.

The band recorded the album 'Of Shape And Balance' under their own steam. Their efforts paid off as the Mastervox label took the album on for a September 1998 release. MALPRACTICE would then undergo further line-up tribulations with the departure of Tuomo Pärttö. CORNUCOPIA's Sami Pesonen stepped in as substitute. Miikka Tikka was next out of the frame, Toni Paananen filling the vacancy on the drum stool. MALPRACTICE issued the album 'Deviation From The Flow' through Spinefarm Records in November 2005.

Toni Paananen joined TO/DIE/FOR in October 2008.
