Jokela melodic Heavy Metal band THAUROROD features former BEAVER FEVER bass player Pasi Tanskanen and drummer Joonas Pykälä-aho, a scene veteran with ties to BYROGRATIA, MELANKOLIA, LINE86, GENITAL ORIENTATED, INFERIUM and LATHSPELL.

Although established during April 2002 it was not until 2004 that the band chose the THAUROROD title. The opening formation counted Pasi Tanskanen, Joonas Pykälä-aho and guitar player Emil Pohjalainen. They would shortly aftward be joined by singer Teemu Laitinen, but this candidate opted out in June. The role of frontman was delegated to Raymond Joint, although by early 2003 he was also to leave. Another brief member would be guitarist Jarno Korhonen, enrolling in September 2003 but having departed by the following January. Vocalist Petra Lehtimäki joined the band in February, followed by the induction of second guitarist Seppo Kolehmainen but was to leave in June.

A three track, self-titled demo arrived in October 2004 and as the year closed Tommi Ahtila was drafted to cover the keyboard role. The group underwent major changes throughout 2005, losing singer Petra Lehtimäki in August, switching guitarist Tommi Ahtila to keyboards in September, seeing Ahtila then exit in October and being replaced by Jani Vesanen.

Emil Pohjalainen joined AMBERIAN DAWN in November 2008.
