Biography

Noted exponents of "Death Rock" BABYLON WHORES mix a heady brew of Gothic Rock, 80's Thrash and Black Metal in a unique combination that has set the band apart from the pack. The band's debut single 'Devil's Meat' released on their own Sugar Cult label saw the group comprising of vocalist Ike Vil, guitarists Jussi Konittinen and Ewo 'Meichem' Rytkönen, bassist M. Ways and drummer Pete Liha. Follow up 'Sloane 313' saw the bass player's job going to the suitably titled Jake Babylon. Further changes were afoot for BABYLON WHORES third release 'Trismegistos' with guitarist Antti Litmanen taking Konittinen's position and Kouta coming in on drums.

In late 1999 Babylon Jake bailed out to found a new act DEATH FIX and was replaced by Taneli Nyholm of ABSURDUS, CRYHAVOC and PANDEMONIUM OUTCASTS. Nyholm also goes under the pseudonyms of 'Serpent', 'Daniel Rock' and 'Daniel Stuka'.

BABYLON WHORES toured America in 2000 as guests to KING DIAMOND. Original guitarist Ewo Rytkönen would go into a career in band management, his biggest success to date being NIGHTWISH.
