A Finnish / Hungarian Symphonic Black Metal alliance dating to September of 2001. FINNUGOR comprises Budapest vocalist Gabriel Wolf and multi instrumentalist Nikolai 'Narqath' Stalhammar (a.k.a. Tomi Kalliola). The latter has a multitude of band endeavours ongoing such as HIN ONDA, AZAGHAL, WYRD, VULTYR, SVARTALFHEIM, OATH OF CIRION, DECAY'S DELIGHT, WELTRAUM, VALAR and WITH HATE I BURN. Wolf operates no less than four band projects in FINNUGOR, the Gothic Folk YWOLF, the ritual Ambient ACONITUM VULPARIA and the Industrial INFRA BLACK.

FINNUGOR came in for unexpected publicity when noted fantasy author John Caldwell used the lyrics from the 'Black Flames' album track 'Behind The Mirror' as inspiration for a new novel. The book became a best seller in Hungary and the notoriety surrounding the band soon landed FINNUGOR a record deal with the Adipocere label.

The band's second album 'Death Before Dawn' saw the inclusion of female singer Domina Mystico and the esteemed MAYHEM and ABORYM frontman Attila Csihar guesting on the track 'Cosmic Nest Of Decay'. With Csihar also making an appearance in a promotional video for this song FINNUGOR once more scored valuable promotion as the TV show 'Megawatt' put the clip into major rotation.

Guesting on the 2004 album 'Darkness Needs Us' would be Marcus Ehlin of SIEBENBURGEN, Christopher B. Wildman of ASGAROTH, RMS Hreidmarr of ANOREXIA NERVOSA, Sture Dingsoyr of WINDIR and ULCUS, Ville Sorvali of MOONSORROW, Peter Meynckens of AXAMENTA and AOD from Dagorlad.
