Heavy Metal band WITCH CROSS was fronted by Alex Savage (a.k.a. Alex Nyborg Madsen). A 1982 three song demo was followed up by a 7" single, entitled 'Are You There?', for the Jamara label. The 1984 'Fit For Fight' album, released through Vision Music, saw a band line-up comprising lead vocalist Johnny Søndergaard, guitarists René Rieland and Kaare Mortensen, bassist John Field, ex-APART keyboard player André Andersen and drummer A.C. This version of WITCH CROSS notably appeared at the Roskilde festival that year. Demos billed 'Last Train' were cut in 1986. The WITCH CROSS debut was re-issued in CD format by Old Metal Records in 2000.

Andersen subsequently enjoyed success with ROYAL HUNT. A WITCH CROSS guitarist and former colleague of Andersen's in APART, René Rieland, would later re-appear as session guitarist for ANDRE ANDERSEN's 2002 album 'Black On Black'.
