A Danish / American Power Metal collaboration, UNLEASHED POWER bassist John Lievano and drummer Edward Owen form the American rhythm section. Danes John Matthias on vocals and guitarist Ken 'Jack' Jacobsen comprise the Danish contingent and were both previously with AVALON. UNLEASHED POWER issued the 'Quintet Of Spheres' demo in 1991 that eventually resulted in a self-financed album release of the same title two years later.

The group relocated to the States in order to work on a second effort that would eventually see them going in a more Thrash based direction. Mysteriously, in the summer of 1994 Lievano disappeared whilst embarking on a trip by train and is believed to have fallen from one of the carriages en route. After the event it was determined Lievano had slipped on wet metal plates between two trains, breaking his neck. He was just 27. Disillusioned, drummer Ed Owens made his exit.

The 1997 album sees a whole new band including journeyman drummer Jörg Michael, of RUNNING WILD, GRAVE DIGGER and STRATOVARIUS to name but a few, bass player Tony Spagone and American vocalist Brian T. Chaffee.

UNLEASHED POWER bassist John Balistreri announced a solo project in early 2007, an instrumental performance art project called DASTARDLY VILLAIN.
