Aabenraa based Melodic Power Metal act PYRAMAZE are fronted by erstwhile BALANCE OF POWER vocalist Lance King, with the DAMION credited Michael Kammeyer on guitar and ENDEMECY, ENCRYPTION, DELIQUESCENCE, INTO DEMENTIA, AURORA, NEPENTHE, SCORNFUL, SCAVENGER, SUBMISSION and WUTHERING HEIGHTS drummer Morten Gade Sørensen. Kammemeyer had cut two demos with DAMION before cutting loose in 2001, enlisting Sørensen and AURORA bassist Niels Kvist to forge PYRAMAZE. American keyboard player Jonah Weingarten, an American previously employed with an Australian act INFERNAL METHOD, was located over the internet with Lance King coming in as the last part of the puzzle.

The Jakob Hansen produced debut album, 'Melancholy Beast', recorded in Denmark during January 2003, was released in Japan during early 2004 on the Toshiba EMI label. Jonah Weingarten joined US act LILITU in October. In early 2005 Lance King vocalised on the track 'Your Dream' included as part of LARS ERIC MATTSON's "non-fictional Rock Opera about the state of this planet we call Earth" WAR. Recording with Jacob Hansen acting as producer, PYRAMAZE cut a new album for 2006 release entitled 'Legend Of The Bone Carver'.

Lance King would participate in an "all star" performance at the 'ProgPower' event at Earthlink Live in Atlanta during September, headed up by noted Norwegian vocalist JORN LANDE, involving Zak Stevens of CIRCLE II CIRCLE and ex-SAVATAGE, Michele Luppi from VISION DIVINE, Pasi Rantanen of THUNDERSTONE, Mikkel Sandager of MERCENARY, Michael Eriksen from CIRCUS MAXIMUS and guitarist Mattias "IA" Eklundh of FREAK KITCHEN.

Citing "irreconcilable differences", Lance King left PYRAMAZE in November 2006. The ex-singer was soon active in the studio again, working with AVIAN, SECRET SOCIETY OF STARFISH and SALINOCH. The band had the tracks 'Power Of Imagination' and 'The Bone Carver' included on the 'ProgPower USA VIII' DVD compilation in 2007.

Keyboard player Jonah Weingarten contributed to a demo recording, entitled 'The Trilogy Of The Wolf', recorded by Georgia based Black Metal band LEGION OF CARCAROTH. Former ICED EARTH frontman Matt Barlow joined PYRAMAZE in April.
