Biography

KOLDBORN is a Glamsbjerg based Death Metal band founded in 1997 by guitarist Henrik and drummer Rasmus Salskov, both previously members of Thrash act ICON OF SIN. Joining this duo would be Martin Leth, erstwhile vocalist and bass player for SOLENS SKYGGE, SATURATION and VINTERMØRKE. Second guitarist Casper, also an ex-SATURATION man, enrolled shortly after. This unit bowed in with the Jan Borsing produced 1999 demo 'Blessed By Beyond'. This session scored a recording deal with Diehard Music but an attempt to record a debut album resulted in failure as the band judged the finished tapes to be unworthy of release. A second go at putting together the album, with Jacob Bredahl of BARCODE and HATESPHERE acting as producer, provided a satisfactory end product 'First Enslavement'.

Guitarist Henrik is also an active participant in HATESPHERE, FURIOUS TRAUMA and HUMAN ERUPT. Rasmus Salskov performs as session drummer with DENIAL OF GOD. Leth is a member of STRYCHNOS whilst bassist Kim can also be found in DEATH MACHINE.

By 2003 Leth had exited and that August KOLDBORN incorporated new singer Thomas Villa. The band, switching line-up once again to incorporate singer Lars Bjørn-Hansen and guitarist Bjørn Bihlet, then cut the EP 'Devil Of All Deals' at Borsing Recordings for Ancient Darkness productions.

KOLDBORN entered Smart 'n' Hard Studios with producer Jacob Bredahl in August 2005 to record a new album 'The Uncanny Valley'. The band replaced guitarist Bjørn Bihlet with akob Nyholm from DAWN OF DEMISE in May 2006. In August KOLDBORN signed to French imprint Listenable Records. October concerts saw Mikael Ehlert from HATESPHERE acting as stand in bassist.
