Copenhagen Black Metal combo USIPIAN, featuring SATURNUS guitarist Tais Pedersen, started out as GOTHIC DOMAIN in 1995, releasing one demo 'An Everborn' under their former title. Singer Toke Eld had prior experience with BERZERK and BABYDÖD. Bassist Martin Rosendahl Sørensen, having previous experience with ACCESSORY, EXMORTOM and INIQUITY, is active on the Metal scene as a participant in acts such as ZAHRIM, NEGATIVE POLARITY and CORPUS MORTALE. Drummer Nis Rode Larsen, active on the scene with PHANTOM and STRYCHNOS, had sessioned for SKJOLD.

As USIPIAN the band put in an inaugural gig as support to VADER. A demo, 'The Human Spirit Massacre', arrived in late 2001. Line-up changes saw the arrival of the STRYCHNOS, INFERNUS and DUNKEL credited guitarist Jeppe Hasseriis. The new recruit also maintained his position within the ranks of AZALON. Former guitarist Trold duly forged PITCHBLACK.

Kent Værens, ex-AD NOCTUM and active with both PHANTOM and MONOMANIA, succeeded to the bass position. USIPIAN issued the 7" EP 'Clouded Restrainment' through Fortress Entertainment in 2004. In 2005 Rosendahl fronted SLOW DEATH FACTORY for the 'Music For Tough Guys' demo, a high profile union of Danish extreme Metal elite comprising ILLDISPOSED's Morten Gilsted, CORPUS MORTALE's Roar Christofferson on bass guitar and Per Møller Jensen of INVOCATOR, KONKHRA and THE HAUNTED repute on drums.

USIPIAN's debut album, 'Dead Corner Of The Eye', was released in July 2005 through Metal Fortress Records. Additional vocals on the tracks 'Selfless' and 'Shadows Of The Once Unseen' were provided by by Martin Rosendahl of CORPUS MORTALE.

Guitarist Tais Pedersen took his leave in April 2006. USIPIAN announced the addition of replacement guitarist Andreas Lynge to the group's ranks in October.
