Biography

Death Metal band INIQUITY date to 1989 releasing the debut demo tape 'Words Of Despair' in 1991. Further demos, such as 1992's 'Entering Deception', and various appearances on compilation albums followed before their debut album, 1996's 'Serenadium' released through Emanzipation Records. The founding quartet had comprised CORPUS MORTALE vocalist / bassist Martin Rosendahl, guitarists Brian Eriksen and Jens Lee with drummer Jesper Frost. As a side venture in 1996 Rosendahl activated Black Metal project ZAHRIM, recording a demo entitled 'Mashshagarannu'.

During 1997 INIQUITY fractured with vocalist / guitarist Mads Haarløv and drummer Jacob Olsen forging SWOLLEN to issue the EP 'The Breathless Waiting' in 1996 and a 1998 demo. INIQUITY also suffered the loss of both Rosendahl and Lee that same year. SWOLLEN then folded and both Haarløv and SWOLLEN bassist Thomas Fagerlind subsequently joined INIQUITY. Three tracks from the 1998 SWOLLEN demos emerged on INIQUITY's 1999 'Five Across The Eyes' release. Production for this album was handled by ex-INVOCATOR frontman Jacob Hanson. Meantime, ex-band members Brian Eriksen and Jens Lee joined up with CORPUS MORTALE in 1999. INIQUITY drafted second guitarist Kræn Meier from SACRIFICIAL in 2001 for the 'Grime' opus.

The Mighty Music label would release a compilation album 'Iniquity Bloody Iniquity' in early 2003 comprising archive demo material plus brand new tracks. Both Haarløv and Rosendahl would form up the extreme Metal 'supergroup' STRANGLER. Drummer Jesper Frost joined melodic Death Metal act ECITON in early 2005 before moving on to join DOWNLORD, the band led by ex-BENEDICTION and BOLT THROWER vocalist Dave Ingram and INIQUITY colleague Thomas Fagerlind.
