Biography

Former LA PAZ, MIDNIGHT BLUE and RAINBOW singer Doogie White created CORNERSTONE in 2000 in alliance with ROYAL HUNT bassist Steen Mogensen and the album 'Arrival'. White would join Swedish axe legend YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's live band in September 2001 for a string of dates in Central and South America. However, this did not prevent work continuing apace on a second CORNERSTONE opus 'Human Stain' in 2001.

Other activities found White forging yet another band endeavour, the album 'Visual Surveillance Of Extremities' in league with guitarist BILLY LIESEGANG credited simply to LIESEGANG / WHITE, and guesting on the British spoof Rockers SACK TRICK 2002 opus 'Sheep In KISS Make Up', an album entirely composed of KISS cover versions. The singer also became a familiar sound in Spain and France when his vocals, on the QUEEN track 'Friends Will Be Friends', were used on an Amstel Beer commercial.

A third CORNERSTONE album, 'Once Upon Our Yesterdays', would be delivered in November 2003. Featured musicians included Kasper Damgaard on guitar and Allen Sorensen on drums with the keyboard role delegated to Rune Brink and ROYAL HUNT's Andre Andersen. Japanese variants of 'Once Upon Our Yesterdays' emerged through Yamaha Music in May 2004, adding an extra track in 'Walk With Me'.

As the year closed White guested on the Swedish Tolkein concept trio THE RING's debut album 'Tales From Midgard', featuring on the track 'Voices Of The Fallen Kings'. The singer hooked up with M3, the band of WHITESNAKE exiles guitarists MICKY MOODY and BERNIE MARSDEN, for Summer 2004 gigs. White also donated his vocals to tracks on Japanese guitarist TAKAYOSHI OMURA's debut album 'Nowhere To Go'. The singer rounded out the year by uniting with MOSTLY AUTUMN members Ian Jennings, Liam Davison and guitarist Bryan Josh to form up WHITE NOISE as support act to URIAH HEEP's UK tour.

CORNERSTONE European gigs in January of 2005, supported by German Progressive Metal band SCENES, would be filmed for DVD release. The band announced a live album, 'Cornerstone In Concert', due in Japan on 6th July via Yamaha Communications and in Europe on 11th July through Massacre Records. The band announced a return to recording, in Copenhagen, during October for a fresh CORNERSTONE opus 'Two Tales Of One Tomorrow'. That same month the group re-signed with Massacre Records for a European release. April 2007 headline dates saw support from RAZORBACK.

Doogie White joined the ranks of NWoBHM band TANK in December 2008.
