Biography

Copenhagen's Black Metal act BLAZING ETERNITY had previously operated under a formative title of ANCIENT SADNESS, issuing a 1993 demo 'Tragedies' under this title. BLAZING ETERNITY would bow in with the 1996 demo 'Soer Sorte Leder' and capitalized on by the 1998 Jonas Chonovitsch produced session 'Der Hviler En Nat Under Sorte Vinterbøge'. Previously the act had operated under the handle of ANCIENT SADNESS having issued a 1993 demo 'Tragedies'. Early activities were conducted as a Black Metal act but latterly the band has preferred a description of "Nordic night Metal". Recording line-up comprised vocalist Peter Mesnickow, guitarists Kim Larsen and Morten Lybecker, bassist Magnus Darkenfald, keyboard player Anders Ro Nielsen with Lars Korsholm on drums. Bass player Hunger Darkenfald is an erstwhile VINTERMISKE member.

BLAZING ETERNITY's debut album of June 2000 'Times And Unknown Waters' included guest sessions from SATURNUS members guitarist Kim Larsen and keyboard player Anders Nielsen. That same year would see an appearance at the famed 'Roskilde' festival.

During November 2000 Nielsen, prioritising SATURNUS, bade his farewell. Larsen though declined further involvement with SATURNUS, putting his energies into BLAZING ETERNITY in addition to projects such as THE LOVELESS and OF THE WIND & THE MOON.

Darkenfald too would decamp, his position filled by Anders I. Kristiansen in time for a Danish tour as guests to BORKNAGER. Keyboards on this sojourn would be deputised by Jeppe Eg of MANTICORA.

May 2001 found BLAZING ETERNITY on tour throughout Germany billed alongside label mates MYSTERIUM, DORNENREICH, NOX MORTIS and PARAGON OF BEAUTY. Once again the band employed a stand in keyboard player, this time utilising the services of SINPHONIA's Peter Jensen. BLAZING ETERNITY would also put in a performance at the 'Wave Gotik Treffen' event. The band set 'A World To Drown In' as the title of their March 2003 released through Prophecy Productions.
