Biography

GODLESS TRUTH was founded during 1994 but only guitarist Petr Švancara survives from the oroginal incarnation of the band. The group, which specializes in American 'groove' Death Metal, debuted with a 1994 demo session 'Another Disease' followed by a 1996 tape 'Desperation'. However, over the next two years the group fractured to such a degree only Petr was left. The band's manager Zdeněk Šimeček assumed the role of lead vocalist as GODLESS TRUTH secured a deal with the French Deadsun label. Session drummer Olda was enrolled for recording of 1998's 'Desperation', basically the band's former cassette plus two new tracks.

In April of 1999 the band drafted Jirka and set about touring with American act LIVIDITY. Further dates in August of 1999 had GODLESS TRUTH ranked alongside PESSIMIST and FLESHLESS. The touring activity would continue into the year 2000 with shows in March billed with Belgian act PREJUDICE before summer gigs in union with FLESHLESS once again and Japan's VOMIT REMNANTS. To close the year GODLESS TRUTH hooked up with Californians DISGORGE on their subtly titled 'Kill The weak Europeans' tour.

In September of 2001, following a gig in Prague with DYING FETUS and CRYPTOPSY drummer George was asked to leave. His replacement, Bizarro (a.k.a. Paul) of DEMIMONDE was pulled in a few weeks later. The band featured a brace of tracks, 'Next Step' and 'Worthless Human Being' on the 2001 compilation 'MetalWorld Compilation I'.

The band would feature on the first Tokyo 'Deathfest' in April 2005 at the Shibuya Cyclone, joining a billing comprising ETERNAL RUIN, DISGORGE and Japanese bands VOMIT REMNANTS, DISCONFORMITY and WOUNDEEP.
