Death-Thrashers UNDER THREAT were created in Bogotá during 1997 by vocalist John Perez, guitar player Nicolas Bermudez and bassist David Bermudez under a formative title of SKULPTOR. Several membership changes later, and with the inauguration of drummer Alejandro Rojas, SKULPTOR became UNDER THREAT in 1999. Toward the close of that year Transilvania Music issued the album 'Hipostasis'. These sessions, which featured a cover version of SARCOFAGO's 'Piercings', marked a switch from Spanish lyrics to English. In December 2001 the band entered Studio One in Racine, Wisconsin to record 'Behind Mankind's Disguise'. A bout of US summer touring saw the band partnering up with MONSTROSITY, DARK FAITH and BLOOD STAINED DUSK. UNDER THREAT also scored an appearance at the Milwaukee Metalfest. The 'Behind Mankind's Disguise' album was picked up by Conquest Music, the custom imprint of MONSTROSITY's Lee Harrison, for issue in March 2003. Once again the band played at the Milwaukee Metalfest that year.

During summer 2004 the band, having lost the services of second guitarist Eric Leider, entered Studio One again to lay down tracks for next outing 'Deathmosphere'. That October UNDER THREAT performed at their hometown's annual festival 'Rock Al Parque' in Simon Bolivar Park. Barbarian Records from Madison picked up the record for the USA whilst Hateworks Records from Manizales, Colombia distributed across South America and Europe. Jake Sommer was added as second guitarist.

UNDER THREAT musicians guitarist Nick Bermudez and bass player David Bermudez made news in March 2007 when they joined BLAZE, the band of former IRON MAIDEN singer Blaze Bayley.
