Biography

Regina, Saskatchewan based INTO ETERNITY put a new spin on the Progressive Rock scene with their October 2000 eponymous debut by adventurously introducing Death Metal and Gothic influences into the mix. The band featured in its ranks former PERICARDIUM members vocalist / guitarist Tim Roth and bassist Scott Krall alongside drummer Jim Austin. Dutch label DVS Records picked the band up for the debut. Live work to promote this opus included Canadian gigs supporting NEVERMORE plus a valuable appearance at the 'ProgPower Europe' festival.

Following the issue of the 'Dead Or Dreaming' album guitarist Daniel Nargang left the fold. INTO ETERNITY soon regrouped pulling in vocalist Chris Krall and guitar player Jeff Story. The band would act as support act to the reformed DARK ANGEL for North American dates in December 2002. INTO ETERNAL later united with HATE ETERNAL, KATAKLYSM, and DYING FETUS for North American dates in February and March of 2003. Upon conclusion of these dates PERICARDIUM's Rob Doherty took over guitar duties from Jeff Story.

Signing to the German Century Media label the band recorded ten songs in their hometown based Touchwood Studios for 2004's 'Buried In Oblivion' opus. The band parted ways with longtime bassist Scott Krall in March. Troy of DIRTBREED acted as stand in for scheduled live work in Europe as support to NAGLFAR. The band, seeing Adam Sagan of HALYCON taking over from Jim Austin on the drums, undertook European package tour dates allied with KATAKLYSM, MYSTIC CIRCLE and GRAVEWORM in October. INTO ETERNITY announced the addition of singer Stu Block of Vancouver's OMEGA CROM to the group's ranks in January 2005.

US dates scheduled for March had the band partnered with AMORPHIS, SINGLE BULLET THEORY and BEYOND THE EMBRACE. Unfortunately, the band was forced to cancel several of their late March appearances after guitarist Rob Doherty sought emergency medical treatment in Atlanta, Georgia. The musician was diagnosed with pneumonia and the band immediately returned to Canada where Doherty, vocalist Stu Block and guitarist/vocalist Tim Roth were all treated for pneumonia. The group, fully recovered, launched into Canadian gigs then formed up with a Summer package touring bill comprising HATE ETERNAL, INCANTATION, KRISIUN and ALL SHALL PERISH for US gigs in June. INTO ETERNITY were then added to the full HAMMERFALL and EDGUY North American tour billing in August before renewed touring in September found the band opening for Finnish Metal band STRATOVARIUS. Both Tim Roth and Rob Doherty also scheduled time to add guest spots to the KATAKLYSM album 'Road To Devastation'.

On 31st October INTO ETERNITY joined the OPETH and NEVERMORE US tour in Philadelphia. Drummer Adam Sagan opted out in February 2006, being replaced swiftly by original drummer Jim Austin. The band joined up with the MEGADETH headlined 'Gigantour' North American festivals in early September, sharing billing with OPETH, ARCH ENEMY, OVERKILL, LAMB OF GOD, SANCTITY and THE SMASHUP. By December the band roster had shifted once again as new recruits Justin Bender on guitar and ex-BEYOND THE EMBRACE drummer Steve Bolognese were enrolled.

INTO ETERNITY partnered with DESTRUCTION, MUNICIPAL WASTE and HIRAX for the "Thrash Till Death Over North America" shows in January and February 2007. The group returned tfor a further round of US campaigning in March and April flanking THE HAUNTED and DARK TRANQUILLITY. INTO ETERNITY partnered with REDEMPTION and headliners DREAM THEATER for US shows in July and August.

DESTRUCTION, CEPHALIC CARNAGE and INTO ETERNITY teamed up for the 'Extreme The Dojo Vol. 21' mini-tour of Japan in May 2009, performing in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo.
