Biography

KILLER DWARFS was assembled in Toronto, Ontario during 1982. Initially without a name the band's manager dubbed them KILLER DWARFS due to singer Russ Dwarf standing proud at 5 foot 3 inches. The joke stuck and the band played upon their vocalist's diminutive status for the rest of their carreer. The band was created when Russ (Russell Graham) decamped from OZ to join SPHINX drummer Darrell Miller. Rounding off the band was bassist Ange (Angelo Fodero) and guitarist Bryce Trewin.

For 1986's 'Stand Tall' album Bryce and Ange had departed making way for guitarist Mike Dwarf (Mike Hall) and bassist Ronald 'Bad Rombo' Dwarf (Ronald Mayer). KILLER DWARFS opened for IRON MAIDEN in America during 1988.

Gerry Finn joined the fold in 1992 for the 'Method To The Madness' album and an American support tour to PANTERA and SKID ROW. Former LOVE NOT LOST guitarist Jason 'Hook' Grinstead joined the band for a brief spell in 1993 before journeying on to Los Angeles and BULLETBOYS.

KILLER DWARVES guitarists Mike Hall and Gerry Finn joined HELIX in 2000. Hall would later feature as part of ex-CONEY HATCH frontman CARL DIXON's band for his 'Into The Future' album. Whilst drummer Darrell Miller would join LAIDLOW for the 'First Big Picnic' record as well as operating an AC/DC tribute band AUTO/BON, Russ founded PENNY BLACK with erstwhile GODDO guitarist Gino Scarpelli for a 2000 album. Finn also operates in Disco band SUPERFREAK!

KILLER DWARFS re-united in 2001 putting in a comeback gig at the Toronto Waterfront club on August 29th. Press announcements placed great emphasis on Russ Dwarf liberating his famed stage tricycle from its pride of place spot as an exhibit at the Toronto Hard Rock Café! In honour of the reunion Bullseye Records would re-issue the 'Stand Tall' album during November. 2004 found Mike Hall forming up a new band outfit entitled BLACK STAR, led by HAREM SCAREM drummer Darren Smith.

Quite surreally Russ also runs a goat farm naming his favourite beasts after well known Rock stars. In 2008 Russell Graham fronted heritage Canadian act MOXY.
