Biography

Notorious Ottawa, Ontario Grindcore act mentored by guitarist Topon Das.The brand name FUCK THE FACTS was first aired to the general public when a collection of solo recordings spanning 1997 to 1999 was issued as the 'Fuck The Facts' cassette album in 1999 through Dedfuk Records. The following year a whole slew of releases was vented.

2000 saw Grindrot D.I.Y. Productions issuing a split album shared with CULT OF THE DAMNED, Abhorrent Creations compiling a split tape with LONGDREAMDEAD, Zas! Autoproduzioni releasing a split in league with S.M.E.S. in September that year entitled 'Know Your Dope Fiend' whilst Symbolic Productions included FUCK THE FACTS tracks on a five way split offering shared with C.A.D., DIKTAT, PSYCHONEUROSIS and GODLESS TRUTH. In November 2000 Impregnate Records offered a second shared effort with S.M.E.S. billed 'Disco-Core Massacre'. A solo effort that September, 'Vagina Dancer' on Wherelatethebirdssang label, proved to be a limited edition, hand numbered cassette hosting original Noise tracks plus a cover version of the VILLAGE PEOPLE's 'Hot Cop'.

2001 was to be equally productive as Topon Das was now joined by Shomir Das contributing bass guitar. Split albums included a Unite Bleeding Tapes MASTECTOMIA tape, which featured FUCK THE FACTS covering SLAYER's 'Necrophilliac' in January, the February issued Symbolic Productions 'A Japanese Winter', limited to 50 copies and shared with MOURMANSK 150 and DE MADELIEFJES, Ghetto Blaster's April offering shared with AMES SANGLATES, another Ghetto Blaster effort in alliance with CONURE, and a Unite Bleeding Tapes / Abhorrent Creation cassette in union with INUMATE, BLOODSHED, MASTECTOMIA and PULMONARY FIBROSIS.

FUCK THE FACTS further included the track 'Sissy Master', included on the 2001 'Ancient Ceremonies Vol. 3' compilation. Full length albums of 2001 would be the Ghetto Blaster Recordings 'Discoing The Dead', featuring a rendition of the DAYGLO ABORTIONS 'Proud To Be A Canadian' in February, and 'Mullet Fever' that December. This latter effort comprised 37 songs blasted out over just 35 minutes, including covers of COURSE OF ACTION's 'You Smoke You Toke' and METALLICA's 'Master Of Puppets'. This album saw FUCK THE FACTS expanded to a band unit involving Topon Das, singer Brent Christoff, bassist Tim Audette and drummer Matt Connell.

The band contributed their rendition of DEATH's 'Empty Words' to a 2003 tribute album assembled by the Spanish Mondongo Canibale label. That same year saw the inclusion of their rendition of 'Devastator' to a GODFLESH tribute album published by French label Nihilistic Holocaust.

FUCK THE FACTS recorded tracks for a split CD in union with French act SERGENT SLAUGHTER in mid 2004. Ex-FUCK THE FACTS drummer Matt Connell joined the ranks of veteran US Death Metal combo EXHUMED in November.

FUCK THE FACTS parted ways with guitarist Dave Menard and bassist Marc-Andre Mongeon in May of 2005. Drafted as stand ins for live work in July, supported by BRIEF RESPITE and THE MASS, would be the BADTRIPPE and INSURRECTION credited Mathieu Vilandré on guitar and Steve Chartier of ORGANEYESED CHAOS on bass.

FUCK THE FACTS signed to Relapse Records in April 2006 to lay down a new album, 'Stigmata High-Five', at Studio En-Phase in Montreal. The band partnered with Belgian Deathsters LENG TCH'E plus GORGASM and BENEATH THE MASSACRE for a Canadian tour commencing 1st May Ottawa, Ontario.

In August 2007 IV Seasons Records included FUCK THE FACTS 'What's Left Behind' on the 10" vinyl split EP '4625'in union with THE CRINN, WORLD DOWNFALL and NESSERIA.

FUCK THE FACTS' 'Disgorge Mexico' album was released on 22nd July 2008 via Relapse Records. The initial tracks for the album were laid down in August 2007 at Liverpool Court Studios in Ottawa with producer Craig Boychuk. The band then recorded the vocals in November 2007 at its own home studio prior to the sessions being mixed and mastered by Craig Boychuk in Winnipeg between December 2007 and March 2008.

North American touring throughout September, dubbed as "Grinding into Cataklysm", had the trio partnered with PSYOPUS, WAR FROM A HARLOT'S MOUTH and LEFT TO VANISH.
