Biography

Hard Rock Band founded by BACHMAN TURNER OVERDRIVE main man RANDY BACHMAN. The group debuted for Scotti Brothers with the May 1979 'Ironhorse' album, recorded by Bachman, guitarist Tom Sparks, bassist John Pierce and drummer Mike Baird. IRONHORSE underwent a transformation for their second 1980 album 'Everything Is Grey' with new recruits ex-BRUTUS and TROOPER keyboard player Frank Ludwig, bassist Ron Foos and drummer Chris Leighton joining the team.

IRONHORSE drummer Mike Baird would go on to an illustrious career as a session drummer appearing on numerous Rock albums. The man also joined AOR legends JOURNEY for their 'Raised On Radio' tour. Bachman and Ludwig later created the short lived UNION. Ludwig would then enjoy a degree of success fronting Pop Rock outfit BODY ELECTRIC.
