Biography
D.O.A. frontman Joey 'Shithead' Keithley and drummer Dimwit had previously been members of THE SKULLS. Keithley founded D.O.A. in Vancouver during 1978 with guitarist Dave Gregg, bassist Randy Rampage and Dimwit's younger brother Chuck Biscuits on drums. At the time of D.O.A.'s debut gig Biscuits was a mere thirteen years old!
The same year D.O.A. released the four track 'Disco Sucks' single on Sudden Death Records. With the first 500 copies selling out another similar batch was pressed. A follow up 'The Prisoner' was released in November. Quintessence Records took the 'Disco Sucks' single over for a larger 1979 release and Friends Records released the mini album 'Triumph Of The Ignoroids'.
following year D.O.A. had two tracks 'Kill, Kill, This Is Pop' and 'I Hate You' featured on the Pinned Records 'Vancouver Compilation' album.
In 1980 Biscuits had a period out of the band where he played with POINTED STICKS and the SUBHUMANS. Andy Graffiti took his place behind the kit as Rampage's position was taken by Simon Wilde as D.O.A. got to grips with the full length 'Something Better Change' album.
Biscuits returned the same year as did Rampage both appearing on the 'Hardcore '81' album which included a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's 'Communication Breakdown'. The band also hooked up with Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label cementing this relationship with the track 'The Prisoner' on the 'Let Them Eat Jellybeans' compilation. The 1982 'War On 45' mini album had different tracks for British and American releases. D.O.A. also contributed live versions of 'America The Beautiful' and 'Fucked Up Ronnie' to the compilation 'Rat Music For Rat People Vol. 1'.
By 1982 Dimwit (real name Ken Montgomery) was bassist but would move over to drums when Biscuits teamed up with the notorious BLACK FLAG before joining FEAR, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, CIRCLE JERKS in 1983 then DANZIG. SUBHUMANS man Brian Goble took over on bass as Rampage became vocalist for Metal band ANNIHILATOR.
The 1991 Polish released compilation 'Greatest Shits' included a free 7" single which included takes on tracks by LED ZEPPELIN, THE DOORS and THE WHO. The Canadian release comprised of different tracks.
RANDY RAMPAGE issued a solo album which included a contribution from Biscuits. Dimwit later had a spell in the FOUR HORSEMEN but would die tragically young in 1994 succumbing to a drug overdose.
