Biography

In 1991 bass player Bryon Stroud ("Sickie Moochmaster" / "Lorde of Greased Thunder") and guitarist Jed Simon ("Lord of Electric Wynde"), known as members of the influential STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, also gained infamy operating the toilet humour fuelled side project band ZIMMERS HOLE. Vocals were handled by Chris Valagao ("Dr. Heathen Hooch" / "Lorde of Ass-Fire") with Steven Wheeler ("Bangsley Starnipples" / "Lorde of Strobe Lightning") on drums. HevyDevy Records issued the debut album 'Bound By Fire' in 1997.

ZIMMERS HOLE returned in 2001 with the Devin Townsend produced 'Legion Of Flames', this set including a cover version of JONI MITCHELL's 'This Flight Tonight'. Virusworx Records issued the album in Europe the following year.

During 2002 ZIMMERS HOLE man Chris Valagao joined STRAPPING YOUNG LAD as keyboard player but then quickly withdrew his services. The band parted ways with keyboardist Will Campagna in November of 2002.

Jed Simon is also active with TENET, a side project with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and ex-DEATH drummer Gene Hoglan, former GRIP INC. bassist Stuart Carruthers, and ex-SACRIFICE and current INTERZONE frontman Rob Urbinati.

October of 2003 found the band touring across Canada with familiar road partners STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and the DEVIN TOWNSEND band. Byron Stroud would join Californian Industrialist FEAR FACTORY on bas in December.

ZIMMER'S HOLE issued the album 'When You Were Shouting At The Devil...We Were In League With Satan' through Century Media Records in March 2008. Live shows witnessed the addition of second guitarist Dave Teague with Gene Hoglan on drums. Shows included a billing on the OZZY OSBOURNE headlined 'Monsters Of Rock' in Calgary and an October US touring alongside Japan's SIGH

The band announced European 2008 dates alongside SOILWORK but withdrew due to a death in Gene Hoglan's family.That same year the band covered OLD MAN'S CHILD's 'Doommaker' for inclusion on the Century Media artist compilation 'Covering 20 Years Of Extremes'. This double CD set comprised Century Media acts paying home to their stable mates. 

'Bound By Fire' was re-issued in February 2009 with new artwork by Century Media Records.
