SYMBOLS

Biography

SYMBOLS are a Progressive Metal act known internationally for providing vocalist Eduardo Falaschi to the regrouped ANGRA following the departure of André Matos. Previous to this defection SYMBOLS had issued two highly regarded albums. Forming during 1997 the first SYMBOLS line up, then operating under the banner of VENUS, comprised of ex-MITRIUM and OPIUM man Eduardo Falaschi, guitarists Demian Tiguez and Rodrigo Arjonas, bassist Tito Falaschi, keyboard player Marcelo Panzardi and drummer Rodrigo Mello. Their first album, simply entitled 'Symbols', arrived the following year.

After the issue of a second album 'Call To The End' in 1999 SYMBOLS contributed a track 'Stormy Nights' to the 2001 conceptual album 'Willian Shakespeare's Hamlet'. However, line-up problems would then strike for the first time, resulting in the departure of both First of all Arjonas and Tito Falaschi. Only a few months later Eduardo Falaschi received the call from ANGRA.

With SYMBOLS now only comprising Demian Tiguez and Rodrigo Mello a new unit was built up. Tiguez took on lead vocals and new members Cezar 'The Frog' Talarico on bass and keyboard player Fabrizio di Sarno were inducted. The renewed SYMBOLS debuted live in São Paulo during December of 2001 and set about recording a third album the following month. Mello also records with Metal band WIZARDS.

Frontman Demian Tiguez would aid in the formation of the 2004 Christian Metal band CEREMONYA, assembled by ETERNA drummer Daniel Lopes and ex-SKYLORD guitarist Francis Botene.
