AGATTA was created during 2001 with an opening line up comprising singer Sérgio Araújo, the guitar pairing of Gilmar Faustino, previously with WIZDOM and NIGHT WIZARD, and Daniel Miura, the STEEL MIND, NOISY BLEND and RAGNALORE credited bassist Edu Faria and drummer Rafael Ferraz, another veteran of WIZDOM and NIGHT WIZARD. Vocalist Sérgio Araújo was introduced during 2002 as Miura then left the ranks. Further changes in 2003 witnessed the incorporation of former ARCHMAGE, AGLA and CONTRABANDA frontman Fernando Kucinski and ex-LIVING FOR THE NIGHT keyboard player Lucas Freire.

AGATTA issued an EP 'Unfinished work' in early 2004.
