MENTAL ASYLUM is a Brasilia based trad Metal band with NWoBHM influences, founded during September of 1998 by ELFFUS, PODERA and VISCERA guitarist Sandro Bolzani. The inaugural band unit comprised Bolzani handling lead vocals and guitar, second guitarist Júlio César Oliveira of SINAGOGA and BLACK RAINBOW repute, bassist Fernando Castro and drummer Wellington Coelho. In March of 2001 MENTAL ASYLUM installed a fresh rhythm section of ex-DARK AVENGER, GLAMDRING and AMALGAMA bass player Michel Brasil and VISCERA drummer Lemuel Lucena.
