Biography

Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais Alt-Rock outfit UDORA, created in 1997 by vocalist / guitarist Gustavo Drummond, bassist Thiago Correa, guitarist Leonardo Marques and drummer Jean Dolabella, previously traded under the name DIESEL. In 2001 the group won a local talent contest, beating over 1,500 other bands to score a prize of opening for RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS at the 'Rock In Rio 3' festival. This triggered a national tour, taking in over 150 shows during which over 10,000 self-manufactured CDs were sold.

The band switched title upon a relocation to Los Angeles, California during 2003. UDORA arrived with just their instruments and a sum total of $700 in finance, with which they purchased a van to act as both transport and home. Demos were cut with Bob Marlette and Matt Wallace. A debut album, 'Liberty Square' released in November 2005 and produced by Thom Russo for J Records, was promoted by an extensive support tour across the USA backing JERRY CANTRELL. In early 2006 drummer Jean Dolabella exited. In June Dolabella joined SEPULTURA as stand in drummer.
