Salvador, Bahia Death Metal act UNGODLY date back to 2001, at first being fronted by singer Hiram Fernades. The first stable line-up would settle on CARNIFIELD singer Serafin Vila, guitarist Daniel Oliveira, INSAINTIFICATION bassist Fernando 'Cliff' Costa and drummer Alex. Earlier, INOCULATION guitarist Marcos had figured in the roll call but left for ETERNAL SACRIFICE.

The band added second guitarist Luciano Campos, another INSAINTIFICATION man, in February of 2004. UNGODLY released the 'Hate Celebration' EP in April, working in the studio with producer Thiago Nogueira, ex-drummer of HEADHUNTER D.C. Gigs that Spring saw supports to KRISIUN, HEADHUNTER D.C. and German Thrash veterans DESTRUCTION. In August drummer Alex Rocha exited and Thiago Nogueira took over on a temporay basis.

UNGODLY's self-titled debut album was released in 2006 via Dynamo Records. UNGODLY supported SLAYER in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in September.
