Biography

THURISAZ is a melodic Black / Death Metal act from Wervik, founded under the banner of MODILIUM during 1997. The 'Never To Return' debut demo was followed by 'The Last Embrace', this second set marking the introduction of keyboard player Kobe Cannière. A third promotional recording, 'Anno Viroviacum', was cut in 2003. The group debuted in March of 2004 with the EP 'Scent Of A Dream', recorded at CCR Studios. Live work in early 2004 witnessed supports to MANIC MOVEMENT and SIX FEET UNDER. TwoFatMen Productions put out 'Scent Of A Dream' as a full length album in September.

The group scheduled dates for a European tour in November 2006, sharing stages with by NOVEMBERS DOOM, AGALLOCH and Denmark's SATURNUS. THURISAZ' second full-length album, 'Circadian Rhythm', was released in 2007 via Shiver Records.

The group parted ways with bassist Lars Vereecke in November 2008 due to "reasons that will stay within the band". Jo van Heghe from OCEANS OF SADNESS covered temporarily.
