GUARDIAN HELIOTROPE is a Doom styled "Suicide Rock" Metal band based around the Lier/Leopoldsburg/Diest area of Aarschot, Belgium. Guitarist Kristof Van Broekhoven (a.k.a. 'Sorath') has association with AVATAR, KILTE, OPUS NOCTURNALES, TAPETUM LUCIDUM, TEMENOS and VERDERF. Drummer Chris Heylen has ties to AVATAR, THE AVATAR, TAPETUM LUCIDUM and TEMENOS.

GUARDIAN HELIOTROPE's first self-titled demo was released in October 2005. Session keyboards would be donated by Izzy of AVATAR, THE AVATAR and THE GREATER GOOD. A second demo surfaced in June 2006.
