MORBID DEATH was a late eighties Death Metal trio, publishing the demos 'Demoniac' in 1988, 'Sin Of Pride' in 1989 and 1990's 'Diabolic Force'. The following year the band evolved into BLASPHEREION. The band comprised vocalist / guitarist Dan Vandenplas, DYING CORPSE bassist Franck Lorent and drummer Fabrice Depireux.

During 1993 Vandenplas and Lorent, taking on the guises of 'Cernunnos' and 'Lord Sabathon' respectively, founded a further Death Metal unit entitled SLANESH and the Black Metal act ENTHRONED. The latter would rapidly rise to international recognition but on 19th April 1997 Cernunnos committed suicide. His replacement in ENTHRONED would be Fabrice Depireux (a.k.a. 'Namroth Blackthorn').
