Biography

Founded in the late 90's, with MAGIC KINGDOM, Belgian guitarist Dushan Petrossi entered the melodic Power Metal sweepstakes. The debut album, 'The Arrival', on the small Music Avenue label was recorded in Brussels between August 1998 and April 1999. A self produced affair, the record had a minor push in the Benelux via marketing efforts of Roadrunner Records. Guests on these recordings included Bill Leana, who played bass on a number of tracks. and keyboard player Ioannis Jovanofski.

The band recorded a second album, which for an number of legal reasons was temporarily shelved. During a protracted two year legal battle with his former label, founder Petrossi decided to release the record as a solo project under the the grandiose DUSHAN PETROSSI'S IRON MASK moniker. The eventual album title was (the perhaps not-so-subtle) 'Revenge Is My Name' and was released by the Finnish Lion Music record label in 2002. MAGIC KINGDOM's bassist Vassili Moltchanov aided Petrossi in this venture.

After securing the rights to the name of his original band, Petrossi forged ahead and recorded the second MAGIC KINGDOM album in France during January of 2004 with the help of many guests including ex-AT VANCE frontman Oliver Hartmann on vocals on two tracks, 'Flying Pyramid' and 'Master of Madness', with Bob Katsionis contributing some keyboard work. Original bassist Christoph Hofbauer was replaced by former EXHUMATOR drummer, Anton Arkhipov.

'Metallic Tragedy' finally saw a Japanese release in June of 2004 through the Avalon Marquee label. The limited edition digipack, released through German label Limb Music Publishing, included expanded liner notes, a video for 'Child Of Time' and the bonus track 'Time Will Tell'. The centerpiece of the neo-classical meldoic power metal CD is an elaborate fantasy based, conceptual affair with many guest vocalists appearing on the 13 minute title track, 'Metallic Tragedy', subtitled 'A New Opera-Chapter One'.

The 2005 DUSHAN PETROSSI'S IRON MASK's 'Hordes Of The Brave' opus featured the MAGIC KINGDOM rhythm section of bassist Vassili Moltchanov and drummer Anton Arkhipov.
