Biography

Brussels Thrash Metal act CHANNEL ZERO were created in 1990 by ex-CYCLONE members. Having debuted in 1992 with an eponymously titled debut for Shark Records, the quartet stepped up a level with the follow-up 'Stigmatised For Life' album, which was produced by PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul. Following its release the band toured Europe supporting BIOHAZARD, OBITUARY, PRO-PAIN, EXHORDER and NAPALM DEATH. The band's third album, The 'Unsafe', (the second on Play It Again Sam) is notable for a guest vocal performance on one track by METHOD OF DESTRUCTION's Billy Milano.

For recording of the ensuing 'Black Fuel' CHANNEL ZERO flew to Connecticutt in America in order to record, but became disillusioned with the results. Deciding upon scrapping these recordings, CHANNEL ZERO returned to Europe to complete the album with producer Attie Bauw.

Guitarist Peter Iterbeke has a project band entitled MANTRA, a band also including drummer J.T. Scaglione and bassist Jimmy Preziosa from American Thrash Metal veterans WHIPLASH. Seemingly at the hight of their success, CHANNEL ZERO split in 1998.

With CHANNEL ZERO's demise, former vocalist Franky De Smet-Van Damme returned with a new "Energy Rock" outfit entitled SKITSOY in 2004. This band debuted in April with the single 'Come to Belgium', recorded at Jet Studios in Brussels with producer Benjamin Bertozzi and subsequently reworked, mixed and mastered by Attie Bauw.
