Biography

KWELHEKSE's first stable line up was formulated in 2000, seeing Kwelle on vocals, Psycho on guitars, Kaiser on bass and Cormanthor of ELFENBLOED on the drums. This unit would contribute the track 'Zuiverend Licht' to the compilation cassette 'Sceldelant' and share a splt demo 'Ooghen Van Vuur' with FLAMMENTOD in 2001. Demos recorded the following year, entitled 'De Vergelding', included cover versions of BURZUM's 'Spell Of Destruction' and THE BLACK's 'Sign Of The Evil Spirit'.

Changes found Cormanthor being switched to the role of second guitarist as former EXTERMINATOR drummer Bluetspur was drafted. Unfortunately Psycho then quit, as did Cormanthor. The group rebuilt itself, Kwelle and Kaiser pulling in Kris Van Walleghem of DEMONIZER, PANZER and ATHGOWLA on guitar in January of 2003. Kris quit just one week after this formation's debut gig and KWELHEKSE duly returned for a concert in March, at The Fox in Torhout, with Psycho re-installed before falling apart once again. Kaiser opted to maintain the name, operating as a duo with Surtur handling vocals, guitar and drums.

The band announced they were splitting in December 2004.
