CROSSFIRE

Biography

One of the first signings to the Mausoleum label, CROSSFIRE released two albums that were much lauded in the underground Metal press. The band started out in 1980 as a Punk outfit entitled THE ONION DOLLS, with De Wint handling drums as well as lead vocals. The band contributed two tracks to the Dutch 'Aardschock' magazine compilation album 'Metal Clogs' on the Rave-On label, although original CROSSFIRE guitarist Ner Neerinckx left the band and was subsequently jailed for the murder of a policeman (possibly documented in the lyrics of 'Killing A Cop' on CROSSFIRE's first album 'See You In Hell'?!?)

Enjoying strong album sales throughout Europe the group supported the likes of ACCEPT and IRON MAIDEN in their time and also played their first English dates in 1985, playing two dates in London; the first at the Wellington in Shepherd's Bush promoted by Shades Records.

Following the demise of the act De Wint and De Brauwer formed Melodic Rockers MYSTERY in 1989. Guitarist Rudi Van de Sijpe forged NATIVE INSTINCT.
