L'ÂME IMMORTELLE

Biography

L'ÂME IMMORTELLE is an Austrian Gothic Electronic Rock act, founded in 1996 by Thomas Rainer met Hannes Medwenitsch. The project debuted with the following year with the demo 'Lieder die wie Wunden bluten'. MOS Records from Liechtenstein duly signed the band following an inaugural live performance in the Spring of 1997 and L'ÂME IMMORTELLE re-recorded the 'Lieder die wie Wunden bluten' tracks at a studio in Switzerland for commercial release. The album proved an immediate hit on the German Gothic / EBM dance scene, the track 'Life Will Never Be The same Again' making a particular impression.

In 1998, after completion of an extensive European tour, the band crafted second offering 'In einer Zukunft aus Tränen und Stahl'. Once again the record hosted a hit single in the club favourite 'Bitterkeit'. Touring found L'ÂME IMMORTELLE acting as opening act to CHRISTIAN DEATH's 1999 European shows. To commemorate this event a special tour EP was pressed up, only 500 being manufactured. Switching to the Tisol Music Group the band cut a third album, 'Wenn der letzte Schatten fällt', with producer Volker Lutz.

Session musicians utilised for the 2001 'Denn Habe Ich Umsonst Gelebt' album, breaking the national German album charts at no. 48, included guitarists Alen Markulin and Jochen Schibertz, bassist Robert Bayer and drummer Simon T. Ostheim. The band's 2003 album 'Als die Liebe starb' broke the national German top 40.

The band collaborated with OOMPH! on the 2004 single 'Brennende Liebe'.
