ATOMIZER

Biography

Extreme Australian Metal act founded in 1998. Guitarist Jay Saunders is also an operative member of ANATOMY and SITHLORD. An initial demo 'Atomic Metal Power' led to an album deal split between the French concerns End All Life and Drakkar Productions, the former issuing vinyl format of 'The End Of Forever' and Drakkar the CD. In Australia Melbourne's The Devil's Own took the album on for domestic release. ATOMIZER toured both Australia and New Zealand during October of 2000. ATOMIZER's next release, for the Norwegian Nihilist Void label, was the 'Gimme Natural Selection' EP featuring two originals alongside covers of MOTȪRHEAD's 'Ace Of Spades' and 'I Wish You Were A Beer' by the CYCLE SLUTS FROM HELL.

ATOMIZER's March 2002 album 'Death Mutilation Disease Annihilation', released by the French End All Life label, came as a limited edition of 500 gatefold sleeve vinyl issue. ATOMIZER, with support from MALEVOLENCE and Christchurch's MEATYARD, would tour New Zealand the same month. ATOMIZER issued the topically war themed EP 'Tyrus: The Doom War Of The Armoured Angel' in April of 2003, this release comprising covers of ARMORED ANGEL's 'Thy Blood Eterne', the TYRUS track 'Cold Steel, Warm Death' and WAR's 'Bullet In The Head'. The first 100 pressings of this restricted run of 500 7"s came in clear vinyl.

The 2003 album 'The Only Weapon Of Choice' had collectors interest piques as the Polish Agonia Productions pressed up just 200 picture discs in 12" vinyl. An even scarcer run was restricted to just 25, these coming complete with an exclusive leather patch. Also that year a split 7" single shared with Czech veterans ROOT emerged through Ajna Productions, naturally limited to 666 copies. Subsequently ATOMIZER signed a more comprehensive deal with Agonia to release 'The Only Weapon Of Choice' on CD format, followed by a re-issue of 'The Death Of Forever' with extra tracks including a cover of S.O.D.'s 'Speak English Or Die'.

ATOMIZER projected European shows allied with Singapore's IMPIETY and Poland's WITCHMASTER for September of 2004, preceded by a trip to Mexico with IMPIETY and HACAVITZ. However, the Mexican dates would subsequently be cancelled. Hells Headbangers Records issued a double 7" single set 'Songs Of Slaughter - Songs Of Sacrifice' in the Summer, the first 100 manufactered in 'Agent orange' splatter vinyl. Agonia Records issued a CD version of ''Songs Of Slaughter - Songs Of Sacrifice', this format adding the S.O.D. cover 'Speak English Or Die'. ATOMIZER announced mid 2005 plans for two album releases, given the titles 'Songs To Swing To' and 'Caustic Music For The Spiritually Bankrupt'.

In November 2006 ATOMIZER's debut album, 'The End Of Forever' was re-issued through Hells Headbanger Records with two bonus tracks from the 1998 'Atomic Metal Power' demo and renamed 'The Death Of Forever' complete with new artwork. The same label also put out second album 'Death, Mutation, Disease, Annihilation' as a vinyl picture disc.
