Biography

ALARUM is a Progressive Metal Fusion band from Melbourne, Victoria. The band debuted with the 1999 'Fluid Motion' album. A two track promotional single was distributed on the THE BERZERKER's 2001 tour. They would prepare a second effort, entitled 'Eventuality' recorded at Back Beach Studios with producer Theron Rennison, for August 2004 release, scoring a European release through Willowtip Records the following year.

ALARUM's rising profile would be recognised at the 2005 Australian 'Kerrang' magazine Heavy Metal awards, with the band landing honours in the 'Best band', 'Best album', Best bassist (Mark Palfreyman) and 'Best drummer' (Matt Racovalis) categories.

The group hit North America for an extensive run of US and Canadian shows lasting into June 2006. They would be joined on this package tour by ION DISSONANCE from Canada, ARSIS and NECROPHAGIST from Germany.

In early August 2006 ALARUM parted ways with drummer Matt Racovalis.
