Biography
DOOMFOXX, taking their title from the Iceberg Slim novel 'Doom Fox' and coming to attention in 2004, notably feature former ROSE TATTOO guitarist Mick Cocks, frontman Stuart McKie, a native of Kilmarnock in Scotland and Ukrainian drummer Jase Burec, a veteran of the Moscow Circus. The group had been formulated by McKie, Burec and guitarist Dave Thomas recruiting ex-HELL CITY GLAMOURS bassist Archi and lastly Mick Cocks. Working with producer Peter Blyton DOOMFOXX cut a four track EP for manager Richard Cartwright's Blast Records label. The band's live reputation spread with residencies at the Spectrum in Darlinghurst and the Excelsior Hotel in Surry Hills.
The band, signing to Germany's Armageddon Records owned by METALIUM bassist Lars Ratz, supported ROSE TATTOO on the European 'Aussie-Invasion' tour during the Summer of 2005. In July showcase gigs in London and New York preceded a three day run at the Hamburg 'Harley Days' festival then a four set performance at the German 'Wacken Open Air' festival. In October DOOMFOXX returned to Europe as support to THE QUIREBOYS. Back on German soil in March 2006, the band opened for THE DARKNESS, following with supports to the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP in April.
