Biography

TOURETTES is one of many modern heavy acts inspired by a mesh of Industrial and Metal. Founded in New South Wales during the late 90's the band gained cult status in Australia. The bands focal point is the uncompromising vocals of front-woman, Michele Madden a six-foot blond with piercings, tattoos and an attitude to match.

The independent self-titled debut came out in 2001 and band made the somewhat suprising choice to lead off the album with a cover of the TALKING HEADS song 'Once In A Lifetime'. The band followed up in 2003 with a second album, 'Detestimony', and managed a video shoot for the song 'Stand'. On the live front, TOURETTES scored a slot on Australia's prestigous 'Big Day Out' open air festival.

They followed up the 'Detestimony' album with a promotional DVD consisting of the 'Stand' video, a couple of live clips and the approrite biographical info, slide show and reviews.

The band temporarily relocated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the summer of 2004 to record their third full-length album. They did a few low-key showcase gigs in the area amply demostrating the ferocious power of the band. The band was also invited to Vancouver to provide some backup vocals for STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's 'Alien' CD.

A third album was mixed and mastered in London, England for release later in 2005. Subsequently, Michele Madden journeyed to Los Angeles, California to join MELDRUM.
