Biography

A Blues Rock outing featuring the esteemed bassist Bob Daisley, a man citing a track record with Rock greats such as URIAH HEEP, RAINBOW, OZZY OSBOURNE, GARY MOORE and BLACK SABBATH. Also in evidence was former ROSE TATTOO guitarist Tim Gaze, also a former colleague of Daisley's in the early seventies Sydney Progressive Rock act KAHVAS JUTE.

The 2002 album 'The Hoochie Coochie Men' comprised new compositions alongside renditions of Blues regulars by the likes of WILLIE DIXON, CREAM and JOHNNY WINTER. The band also took on WILLIE DIXON's 'You Need Love', pointedly emphasising that, although LED ZEPPELIN had re-worked the track to the more famous 'Whole Lotta Love', they were affording credit to the original composer.

A short burst of February 2003 Australian live dates found former DEEP PURPLE keyboard player JON LORD participating. Later gigs had JIMMY BARNES participating as guest, these two notable additions pre-empting Daisley's next venture. June brought news of a high profile project as it was learned that Daisley, Lord and Barnes were in alliance with DEEP PURPLE guitarist STEVE MORSE and URIAH HEEP drummer Lee Kerslake for the LIVING LOUD album.

A new album from THE HOOCHIE COOCHIE MEN was announced for 2006, this set to feature guests JON LORD, JIMMY BARNES and DEEP PURPLE frontman IAN GILLAN. The latter put down vocals on two tracks in December.
