HAAR is a Newcastle, New South Wales Black Metal band, founded by keyboard player Daniel, dating to 1994. Formative members included the guitar duo of Brad and Matt, the latter having scene associations with DOMINION OF RUIN and BENEATH THE DYING MOON. Vocalist Carrie was enrolled in late 1998. A demo, entitled 'The Flickering Light Of A Dying Flame', saw issue.

HAAR debuted live at the The Iron Duke in Alexandria on April 3rd 1999. Further tracks were recorded, for an intended EP to be be branded 'Eternal', but, according to band sources, Brad destroyed the masters prior to his departure.

HAAR regrouped, seeing Daniel and Carrie joined by LORD KAOS guitarist Darrell, ex-CHAINSAW LOBOTOMY guitarist Mark plus DARK DOMINION, THE GRAND MEETING and ANWARIAD bassist Arawn.
